2025-2026 Novice Policy Packet
Below are the arguments that we have selected to be included in the 2025-2026 Novice Policy Debate Packet! This only applies to HIGH SCHOOL NOVICE Division, and all other High School Divisions can read any arguments in line with other rules and guidelines.

It also only applies for the first two tournaments of the semester! After that, teams are welcome to read whatever they would like.

Middle Schoolers are restricted to reading evidence from "AFF #1 Icebreakers, Icebreakers Inherency Update, Ice Breakers Case Negative, Russia Disadvantage, and Arctic Council Counterplan."
Affirmative Cases!
These are the two affirmative cases that novices can read in debates this year!
Tournaments that are not sanctioned by DKC may use the "National Debate Coaches Association" or "NDCA" Packet which will require that you debate AFF #2

At DebateKC sanctioned tournaments your novices may read either affirmative!

******MIDDLE SCHOOLERS CAN ONLY READ THE ICEBREAKERS AFFIRMATIVE******
AFF #1 Icebreakers
This affirmative case can be read in any DKC tournament! It is about building nuclear powered ships designed to break ice in the Arctic reason which the affirmative will argue has a few benefits.

You cannot read this affirmative at tournaments using the NDCA or some other packet for their novices. It is important that you check the tabroom invite and/or contact the tournament director to find out what affirmatives you can and can't read.
Negative Cases!
These are the negative arguments that novices are able to read this year!
Icebreakers Case Negative
The arguments in this file are designed to be read against the Icebreakers Affirmative Case! It has answers to the affirmative's on case as well as a few shorter off case positions.

We would advise that you are careful when attempting read arguments from this file against the Domain Awareness Affirmative.
