Middle School Policy Debate
2025-2026 Policy Debate Resolution!

Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.
Debate Formats
* Just like High School Policy Debate, Middle School Policy Debate is a format where two teams of two students compete head-to-head with an affirmative team advocating for a policy that falls under the topic and a negative team arguing against said policy.
* For middle school DKC tournaments students are restricted to just reading one specified affirmative case and corresponding negative arguments. This is to help them focus on building core debate skills rather than getting lost in the size of the topic.
* The National Speech and Debate Association host a national tournament specifically for middle schoolers! This is a great opportunity for students who are excelling in debate to compete against other students from across the country before they even reach high school.
